AUDIOPHILE STREAMING?
IT IS NO SECRET THAT AUDIO NOTE IS HIGHLY SCEPTICAL ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE OF MODERN SOURCES LIKE INTERNET MUSIC STREAMING AND NETWORK AUDIO. WE VIEW THESE DEVELOPMENTS MOSTLY AS YET ANOTHER STEP IN THE DECLINE OF THE DECADES.

Normally, I don't forward reviews of Audio Note UK equipment. However, the review below written by Scot Hull of parttimeaudiophile.com includes statements which so much resonate with the Audio Note philosophy, that I could not let this pass.
UNDER THE HOOD - AUDIO NOTE DAC 3 BALANCED
Audio Note pioneered a fundamentally different approach to D/A conversion than that taken by the rest of the industry, rejecting oversampling and digital filtering in favour of an architecture that takes the native data stream, converts it to analogue, then passes it through a simple filter.
UNDER THE HOOD - AUDIO NOTE M3 PHONO
The Audio Note M3 Phono is a Level 3 pre-amplifier with build in phono-stage. Not surprisingly all amplifying stages use tubes, while this pre-amplifier is also equipped with tube rectified and regulated power supplies for both the phono and line stage separately.

When we think of the history of audio, it appears to be a series of continuous improvements, from primitive origins to our current state of the digital art. The earliest recorded music, Edison wax cylinders from the 1890's, were indeed crude, just as iPods and iPads are extremely sophisticated.
